This evening, October 12th, the presidential debate will be held between the candidates: Rodrigo Paz Pereira (PDC, Partido Dem\u00f3crata Cristiano) and Jorge \u201cTuto\u201d Quiroga (Alianza Libre). The event, organized by the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE), begins at 9:00 p.m. and will be broadcast throughout the country on open air and via the YouTube channel of <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The debate is the final part of the political campaign, the second round is scheduled for next Sunday, October 19th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The debate will last one hour and forty minutes, it will be divided into three blocks, with six thematic areas: economic measures, social containment policies, justice, citizen security, health and education, hydrocarbons and lithium\/mining, agriculture, environment and tourism. Moderators can reconduct interventions, cut off microphones or reformulate questions if candidates fail to comply with the rules. Both parties signed a prior commitment to respect the format and avoid verbal attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Next Sunday, 7,937,138 citizens are qualified to elect the next president. The debate will allow voters to hear proposals and undecided voters (near 7% of the standard) to choose between both options. In the first vuelta, Rodrigo Paz led with around 32%, followed by Quiroga with 27%. The debate is taking place at a moment of political transformation for the country. El Mas (Movimiento al Socialismo), historically led by Evo Morales and led by Luis Arce, has lost its electoral strength and its candidate, Eduardo del Castillo, only obtained around 3,16% of votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From October 16th until 00:00, electoral propaganda will be prohibited according to the TSE resolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
